What detective shows do you like?  There's Jake and the Fat Man and Columbo.

Moonlighting was my favorite because it could be funny, serious, or romantic with a twist.

I did watch in the heat of the night and it was pretty good but one of the actors really wasn't that good (I can't recall his name though).

Yes, I'm a big "Columbo" fan, and have been collecting the seasons on DVD. I'm also a big fan of "Baretta" from the 70s.

I'm happy to see that BlueFly44 also likes "Cadfael." But Cadfael reminds me of a 15th century Columbo. lol

Peacebe and I briefly discussed "Baretta" when she invited me to the group. The theme song was as cool as the show.
"Don't go to bed with a price on your head, no, don't do it. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time - don't do it. Keep your eye on the sparrow when the going gets narrow."

I've got the first season of "Baretta" on DVD. Sammy Davis, Jr., hadn't yet recorded the theme song. One of the episodes was called "Keep Your Eye on the Sparrow." If I remember correctly, that song made it onto the pop charts for a little while.

Karl Malden or Michael Douglas? Well, do you want intellectual and older, or active and cute? lol I liked them both!

Baretta was cool.  You're right.  "Keep Your Eye on the Sparrow" was on the charts.  Rockford Files was neat with all those car chase scenes. and there was Angel.

Tried to find the length of time "Keep Your Eye on the Sparrow" was on the Billboard Charts, but it just showed that it was.

Anybody catch that new detective show Life on Mars on ABC last Thursday?  It's about a detective who gets hit by a car in the middle of an investigation and when he 'wakes up', he's in 1973.  It's neat just to see the old cars, clothes, attitudes, etc.

There's also a pong/1973 trivia game on that site: http://abc.go.com/primetime/lifeonmars/index?pn=computergame

Will have to check it out.  Shows are neat when the person goes back in time.
