Posted over 2 years ago Does anyone have advice for prospective federal workers regarding security clearances? I know the process varies greatly. What types of positions require them? What has been your experience? |

| Posted over 2 years ago I know that some types of federal jobs that you wouldn't expect to require them often do - such as librarians and even some patent officers. |

| Posted over 2 years ago I've heard that for Secret clearances they will send out flyers to all your references and work places and ask about your performance. What should newbies be prepared for? What sorts of questions will they ask? |

| Posted over 2 years ago When I applied for my security clearance, they had me fill out an SF-86 form where I had to put down all of my past contacts. They aren't lying when they say they contact everyone. The OPM investigator came in person to investigate every person that I listed. |
