Now that NSPS is going away, has anyone heard about what is going to happen with the pay.  My case is this, I recently took a NSPS position that was a GS -12  equivalent.  However, when I did the pay setting worksheet, I am receiving the equivalent of what is GS 9 step 8 pay.  When NSPS is done away with, how will that effect my pay?  Meaning if the position was a former 12, will I finally start receiving GS-12 pay since I am doing GS 12 work or will they try fo force me to continue working for less pay but remain in the position?  Does anyone have any information to share?

The NSPS change doesn't take full effect until 2012, so there is still some time.  In brief, you will revert back to the GS-equivalent.  My best guess is this would mean a GS-12.

On GovCentral today, Alyssa Rosenberg with GovExec.com explores what may replace the National Security Personnel System.

We're continuing to cover this and will post more information on GovCentral as we get it.  Great question.

Thanks for the info and insight, McConnell.  This was the same thought process that I had, but with you never know.
