Cartographic Technicians research, extract, attribute, symbolize, and format geospatial information. In addition, they verify the quality, accuracy, and currency of this information.
Skills and Knowledge RequiredCartographic Technicians typically possess knowledge of cartographic drafting techniques, color separation procedures, digitizing techniques, and feature extraction techniques. General skill areas include hardcopy and softcopy geospatial product editing, scanning/digitizing, geospatial data manipulation, and imagery manipulation.
