Department of the Air Force: Federal Jobs Overview

The mission of the United States Air Force is to deliver sovereign options for the defense of the United States of America and its global interests – to fly and fight in Air, Space, and Cyberspace. To achieve that mission, the Air Force has a vision of Global Vigilance, Reach and Power. That vision orbits around three core competencies: Developing Airmen, Technology-to-Warfighting and Integrating Operations. This vision requires that it have top civil engineering and intelligence personnel.
The department’s largest agencies are Air Force Materiel Command, Air National Guard, Air Education and Training Command, Air Force Reserve Headquarters, and the Air Combat Command.
