Basic sensible principle ("don't buy what you cannot afford") written in such a way that it acts as a gentle introduction to the core concept of fiscal responsibility and personal accountability. A little pedestrian to people well-versed in matters of finance, but invaluable to any lay person suddenly finds themselves (through their own actions or as a matter of consequence) mired in frustrating financial quagmires without support from those around them. Provides structure, options and hope for those who need it- and obvious statements and platitudes for those who don't. Overall, wonderful message. How it is received depends on what the reader expects to receive. So if you're an accountant by trade, skip it. You'll be bored by the book in less then a chapter's time.
