Gov Gear: Blame it on Fidel
Blame it on FidelJulie Gavras
|Average Rating:||(1 Vote)|
This debut film from Julie Gavras (daughter of Costa-Gavras) reconsiders the political upheavals of the early 1970s from a child's eye view. The heroine, nine year old Anna can't cope with her parents' trendy left wing leanings. To her, "politics" means late night meetings and messy houseguests who won't leave. What will the little fussbudget do when Commie houseguests rail against her beloved Mickey Mouse comic books? - description by Cinema Village (NY).

I saw this film last Saturday, and it was awesome. Very lighthearted, yet serious. The little girl in the film did an awesome job of capturing the struggle any kid must have when their parents start paying more attention to politics than to them.
