For me, this issue is about civil rights: two human beings who love ech other being able to marry and have the same rights as a heterosexual couple.
Why is it in this country we seem to focus on hate and trying to keep basic civil rights from people who are simply not the same as the majority. Pretty soon the white anglo-saxon protestant majority is NOT going to be the majority. I happen to be an old, white anglo saxon catholic (although I am leaving the catholic chuch because of their what I categorize as hate: welcoming those who fit their stereotype of who should be able to FULLY participate in the worshipping of God in the catholic church which means (and this list is not all inclusive) no gays, no divorcees, no one who believes in abortions, and the list goes on and on.
Whether it is gay rights, voting rights, the right to have health benefits, women's rights, abortion rights, and this list goes on and on: trying to keep one group of people in this country from having the rights of the majority.
Why can't we ALL have the same rights regardless of what group we belong to?
I thought we all belonged to the same group, human beings, who have ceretain inalienable rights.
As goold old rodney King once said: "
Can't we all just get along?"
Can't we?

Hey Cremar, Don't want marriage myself but equal rights is all most of us want. Frankly, and don't take this wrong, most of us are tired of feeling like we need your blessing or permission. Cheers, Greg

I may be in the minority by saying this but being politically correct has never been an issue with me, I was raised to believe marriage is a sacred unity between a man and a women, this is only my opinion and if i offend anyone you better grow a thicker skin.
