Bailey says federal applicants also get points for being veterans.
People are holding on to jobs, which is contributing to the tighter job market, Miller says.
“The number of job openings may not be as many as a year or two ago, just because there’s been less turnover,” he says.
To get hired at Giant, Miller says it helps at Giant to be a people person.
“What we’re really looking for is employees who have a lot of customer service, who are friendly, who are comfortable with constantly changing environments – employees who are flexible with their work schedules.”
He recommends applicants be proactive, have a resume and introduce themselves to a store manger.

RE: Mobility. What I am seeing now in many job announcements is the requirement "Must reside in the area job is located" .... this eliminates people who are willing to move and/or not requesting relo. This is unfortunate.

This is kind of a non-story. Everyone who is breathing knows this. I would rather see an article leading me to businesses ready to hire.
