Dear Deb, don't worry about rambling on. I like to do the same too. :-) I think I have registered with about six temp and staffing agencies but same old problem that the positions they have call for bilinguilism and/or low pay (under the rate of pay I started at my old job) which I don't mind so much as I'm flexible but I always get bypassed because they usually fill in the jobs they have with Hispanics.

Dear Deborah, thank you for sharing. I do have a few ideas. Virtual assistant and translation services was one idea. So far though the virtual assistance field is too crowded already. There's an oversupply and little demand. That's no good. Same with Translation, especially here in Miami, for translations from Spanish to English. I thought of selling "something", starting from E-Bay and then online from my personal website. So far I cannot come up with that "something", something that people might want to buy from me, that I can make or buy that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Hi Deborah. Thanks for sharing your info with me. I've been out of work the same length as you, lost my job on July 28. Have been applying to both private and public sectors, been to a few interviews but so far, results have been Zip. Sometimes I just don't feel motivated to apply for anymore jobs. But I guess I can't give up. I wish I could set up my own home business but I am not very entrepreneurial, nor do I have the "seed" money or the initial investment you have to make to launch a business. Would you give me some tips?

I am a spring of 1974 grad from Lincoln...flew out in june to Honolulu and never made it back...I do miss the atmosphere of those times though...with the exception of deep winter the climate was of fun in the parks and keggers in the hills...and at the river in the buff was awesome...
