Hello there. I apologise for not having replied earlier. I have been so busy this past month, and not much leisure time. My horses are all shown on the hunter/jumper circuit, and I have two for sale! lol They are quite an expense. I tell people the cheapest part of owning a horse is buying it! However, I am a horse-lover and they make the best friends. Many people don't care to own mares because they can be moody, but that is what I own. Three mares. Yes, they can have their grouchy moments, but I find mares to be rather smart, and ready for a challenge! Or perhaps they are ready sometimes, to challenge me!
I have heard about horse slaughter under-cover and criminally speaking, specifically in south Florida. It is awful what is being done, and I hope law enforcement cracks down on this activity. I understand the meat is a delicacy in other parts, yet the horse holds a favoured perch within American society, and indeed, American history. It played an important role as the country's expansion pushed west. I don't see horse meat becoming part of the American diet anytime soon. Let's hope.
