Nina knows that she can call anytime. She calls and lets us know what's going on. If we don't hear from her after a period of time, we give her a call.

My dad died in 2005, my mother died about 2 years later, my sister passed last year. Now I have my step-mother, step-sister, and step-brother and their families. I'm sorry to hear that you lost them, but I can empathize. Nina and my husband's family is pretty much all that I have, including our one dog, Faith. Our other dog, Esther had to be returned to the shelter as there were a lot of fights between the two of them even though they had lived in peace for a year.

About 5 years ago, we had to make a decision to stay with the company that my husband was working for and moving or losing his job and staying together. Since we were losing our home and the company was paying for the move, we decided on the move. Nina was already an adult, she will be 29 on Monday, she wanted to stay near her biological family, and stay at her new job. She didn't want to leave her old friends. So we moved and she stayed in NJ. We adopted Nina when she was 8.

My daughter's name is Nina and when I talk with her next time, I will tell her so! She lives in NJ and hopefully will see her next year when she gets married.
