http://www.friendsofeli.com “The Mind Can Only Reason What The Heart Can Process” - ELIHU ELI EL was born in Kansas, raised in Arkansas and is a longtime, committed resident of Maryland’s 20th Legislative District in Montgomery County. He is a loving and devoted father to his 13-year-old daughter. A Computer Programmer, “Eli” has experience in software & systems development, performance engineering, configuration management and CMMI. He currently holds the title of Software Engineer. Eli has a reputation for performing the tasks most people wouldn’t want to have. As a Combat Engineer and Certified Army Instructor, Eli has served honorably in the United States Army Reserve for 14 years and is a former member of the Southern States Police Benevolent, National Tactical Officers’ Association, and Teamsters Union. He is an alumnus of The City of Little Rock, Arkansas Citizens Police Academy. He is a graduate of the Healing Racism Institute hosted by The City of Little Rock Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission. Eli remains extremely active within his community, engaging an admirable track-record of grassroots volunteerism. He is a member of The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). NCNW is an African American women's organization that leads, develops, and advocates for women of African descent as they support their families and communities. He is a member of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Maryland and its Jurisdiction, Incorporated and holds the elected office of Junior Warden with Pythagoras Lodge #74 located in Rockville, Maryland. In 2007, he received the Charles Maynard James Community Service Award given by Mu Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Mu Nu Chapter {www.munuques.org} is located in Silver Spring, Maryland. He has been a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity since 1992. Eli served as a Montgomery County Chief Election Judge for the 2006 Primary and General elections. Other former political positions include: • Precinct Chair (13-68), 20th Legislative District of Maryland • Board Member-At-Large, 20th Legislative District Democratic Caucus • Area Coordinator, 39th Legislative District of Maryland • Secretary, 39th Democratic Club • Vice-President, 39th Democratic Caucus Eli earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is a student of The Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering and recently completed the Management of Systems Projects and Project Management courses at the Defense Acquisition University. Eli is also an active member of The Peoples Community Baptist Church led by the Honorable Dr. Haywood Andre’ Robinson. Eli’s long-term aspirations include a strong urge to create real change in his community while enhancing the standard of living for everyone in Maryland’s 20th Legislative District. Simply put: Whenever facing improbable odds, Eli stands for what's right...our legacy demands it.
