I haven't been able to post to my group, getting the interview. you can join, but it won't let you post. it's been that way for a very long time. when i inquired about it, no one answers. no i didn't hear about donna. what's up? I think she was sick the last i knew.

I will be retiring from the Coast Guard with over 20 years of service and it is time for me to get out there in the real world :-) I am working on my resume and I hope to land a government job in NC or VA. I signed up with Monster.com and I already received two offers for a job interview! I have not even posted my full resume, but I am struggling somewhat with my resume as far as preparing a great cover letter. I am researching tips on writing a great resume from different websites. I am sure the resume will come together just fine, but anyway take care. Theresa

Hi George,
Thanks for posting. I am just getting into this as I have been a self-employed computer consulting living in Panama for 6 years. I am now heading back to the States, Nashville area, and am looking to apply my administrative, bookkeeping and computer skills in a Government Agency in that area. It has been a while since I job hunted as I have been self-employed for almost 15 years. Any suggestions or tips on how to get started and a good path to follow.

Hi! To answer your question: overall I would like to be in either Human Rights or Nuclear nonproliferation areas. I know at the moment that there is not much in terms of local government so I will need to look into Washington. Getting into the sphere of that big government is going to take some time though...
