I work for a contractor company making 40K,. I applied for a position that is a GS9 with the State Dept. I will start my new position next month. My contractor told me there was not need to signed a new contract with the new title and that it will be a "lateral" move? meaining, no pay increase. I think it is wrong and I told him so, I would like to sighn a new contract that indicates my new position and new job description and I will accept this position with a minimum of 43k per year. he said that it is nothing he could do about it, take it or leave it?! any thoughts out there? I would like to come back to request payment increase but with better knowledge of how contractors work. Thank You!
