Federal Jobs in Nebraska

Nebraska’s relatively small federal workforce is primarily employed by the DoD and VA, with significant employment at several USDA agencies. The Veterans Health Administration is the largest single federal employer, with 1,500 in the state. Two DoD agencies, the Air Force Air Combat Command and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employ 1,000 and 800 respectively. Two USDA agencies, the Natural Resources Conservation Services and the Food Safety and Inspection Services employ the most of Nebraska’s agricultural-related federal workers.
