Department of Commerce
Kyle Stone | GovCentral Contributing Writer
The DOC promotes economic growth and security through export growth, sustainable economic development and economic information and analysis. It also conducts the national census, regulates patents and trademarks, and monitors the weather and oceans. Due to retirements, the DOC is expected to lose nearly one-sixth of its workforce by 2008. Filling these critical positions is a top priority for the Department, and it is offering $3 million in special incentives and student loan repayments per year to new employees.
