This is a strong selling point for those who come from civilian careers. Other state and local jobs are mostly exclusive to government sectors of the economy. If you are a properly qualified candidate, these jobs will not be as fiercely competitive as those which require less specialized work. I have a local Government job, and it seems like everything else, it all depends on what County you work in, and what portion of the company budget administration feels like spending on their employees. There should be standards in place, because this "great" job pays FAR less than 25,000 a year!!

Bernanke insists that no such situation will exist, but the reality is that if too much nationalization occurs, banks come into a position where the government can make it difficult to deal with any other financial services. For instance, this could lead to the outlawing of any and all lending of payday loans, which would not be good for anyone.
