Homeland Security - Most Exciting Government Jobs

Homeland Security encompasses a broad range of activities, all of which are highly engaging – not to mention high risk.

So, what type of jobs are exciting? Let’s start with broad categories – further down the page, we cover specific jobs.

I served one tour in the United State Army, active duty, and received an honorable discharge. I married an army infantry soldier and we now live in Alaska and we have five beautiful children. My desire while the kids were young was to work in the home with them and a few years later had the opportunity to homeschool my children for a while. It was a great experience for our family. In 2001 I was introduced to the Emergency Services field through a local fire department in which I found to be quite fascinating. I decided to go back to school and am actively seeking and completing a Public Safety and Emergency Management degree with the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. I recently joined the Alaska Air National Guard in which I am also in an Emergency Services field. I have a passion for all nations and our local governments to find a common ground in which we all may globally make this a safer world in which to live.
