Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Licensing or registration required. Includes advance practice nurses such as: nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, and certified registered nurse anesthetists. Advanced practice nursing is practiced by RNs who have specialized formal, post-basic education and who function in highly autonomous and specialized roles.

Public Health Nurse
These nurses provide medical care to specific populations, many of which are underserved by the overarching healthcare system. Community nurses often work for government agencies or privately funded clinics.

Alaska State Trooper
State Trooper Recruit is the entry level in the State Trooper series, distinguished from State Trooper by participation in a structured training program consisting of academic study, physical training, and practical field training. State Trooper Recruits (Field Training) are distinguished from State Trooper Recruits (Academy) by having completed a basic police training program, and, following a limited course of instruction focused on aspects of law enforcement specific to Alaska and the Department of Public Safety, are prepared to enter the field training program while State Trooper Recruits (Academy) must participate in the full course of Academy instruction.
