How Many Jobs Will Be Created/Saved in Your State?
US Job Creation/Saved in Next Two Years Flash Map from Recovery.org
GovCentral and Recovery.Gov
In an effort to maintain the transparency and accountability promised during the Presidential campaign, the Obama Administration launched Recovery.gov. The site is a searchable database of how and where tax dollars are spent as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
GovCentral found the most useful part of the site is the Estimated Job Effect Flash Map of the U.S. When you scroll over a State, you can find out the expected jobs created/saved figures for the next two years. Yet this didn’t go into the depth we wanted it to, so we pulled together the information for you and made it easier to compare your state with others.
There are two tables in this report, with the same data but in different sets.
Table 1: Jobs Created and Saved (in the Next Two Years) Listed by State Alphabetically
Table 2: Jobs Created and Saved (in the Next Two Years) Listed by Highest Number/State

This means zero to those who have lost jobs. These numbers are meaningless and the presentation is meant to meet the "criteria" of transparency. What is transparent is the sad, pitiful waste of taxpayer dollars to publish this information. I am a college graduate, a paralegal, and an 18 year marcom professional, and now working in a WIA program to get "retrained" as a billing and coding specialist in the medical field. If, IF, I qualify....jumping through *Works* programs, testing, and then the copying off the internet of the "ads" for the job I want, to show those jobs are available and desirable. I've destroyed more trees performing like a circus animal than I could save by actually working a real job. I've shown I can go to school, perform well and get a job, so this is almost more than I can bear. I will persist as I was reared as an achiever, not a quitter. I will get my tax dollars worth - now they've really made me mad. Take down those statistics!

By looking at some the related articles listed, you can get a better idea of in which industries these jobs will be created.

This is worthless info, just more big numbers of so called benefits of having a socialist and his socialist party take over the federal government. Exactly where do the numbers come from, who put the numbers together, what are the industries and areas where these so called jobs are going to be, etc.. Change? Change? Transparency? Transparency? Paleeeze!

No one knows what jobs this is to help but they do know that alot of the money is for job for roads and brieges so everyone can go back to WWII and being laborers. This hole thing is a big waste of time and our tax money working not for use. If we want to make are country great again we need to slam ALL the companies that shut are jobs down here and sent it over sea. Hint that is were my job went as 1800 poeple were laid off here there was many jobs opening over sea but the CEO's still make thier 1.something and up bonuses as we look forward is jobs in road labors. I think are GOV need to take their fat eating butt off there seats if they can pull them out and look at the people that are losing thier jobs (IT IS NOT IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION)! I have worked the last 3 year in the simi conductor area and thousands of jobs are gone so I don't qual as a road worker.

THE GOVERNOR OF TEXAS HAD A "NO THANKS" ATTITUDE TO THE STIMULUS FUNDS. nOW HIS STATE IS AT THE TOP OF THE LIST FOR RECEIVING FUNDS...WHY DIDN'T HE HAVE THE COURAGE OF HIS CONVICTIONS? SOME OF THE FUNDS APPORTIONED TO HIS STATE SHOULD GO TO OTHER STATES WHO BADLY NEED IT, LIKE MICHIGAN OR ARIZONA, AND LET HIM DEAL WITH HIS CONSTITUENCY ABOUT HIS ATTITUDE.

and that is supposed to help me how? I'm just thrilled to know that 93,000 jobs could be saved (or created) in VA!@!#! Saving someone else's 100k job doesn't help me right now....and not knowing fields/industries that will possibly create jobs....does nothing for me whatsoever. This is all a feel good campaign...I have zero faith in anything materializing.
