Highlight Relevant Experience on Federal Resumes

More Advice

Do Not List High School on USAJOBS Applications
Early in the federal resume years, the applicant had to include the high school date on every federal resume. This is eliminated now.

College Graduation Dates
They are not mandatory in USAJOBS, so you can leave those dates out. You might have to add high school into some other resume builders, depending on the agency and positions. Too bad about that.

THE ULTIMATE FEDERAL RESUME OBJECTIVE:
To demonstrate that you have One Year Specialized Experience, education and qualifications for the position; get referred to a supervisor; get selected for an interview; get HIRED based on your expertise and ability to join the organization running!

THE ULTIMATE FEDERAL RESUME OBJECTIVE IS NOT TO:
Give every detail of your work experience since college and high school, education, training courses and skills for your entire lifetime. This is too much, overload, possibly non-relevant, too many details. This could cause a reverse reaction of weariness and impatience with too much information for the HR specialist.
