WASHINGTON – Chris McConnell, 27, of Washington, D.C. has joined GovCentral as Editor and General Manager.

McConnell comes most recently from MIQCIE Strategy & Development LLC, a boutique consulting company focused on political, logistical, and communications strategy and development. As founder, McConnell worked with clients to create innovating outreach strategies targeting Congress and Federal Agencies to obtain measurable results.

As Editor for GovCentral, McConnell will focus on creating original content catered towards federal, state, and local government employees, while solidifying GovCentral’s status as the leading job resource for government jobs.

McConnell, said, “GovCentral is a fantastic site and I am really excited for this opportunity. I want to ensure that members continue to view GovCentral as a trusted source for information about federal, state, and local government employment.”

During the 2008 campaign season, McConnell worked for then-Sen. Obama as the sole Field Organizer in South Dakota. After the election, McConnell served the Presidential Inaugural Committee as an Event Manager for the Inaugural Parade.

McConnell started his career on Capitol Hill interning for Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Rep. C.L. “Butch” Otter (R-ID). Off the Hill, he was worked for the non-profit Center for Civic Education, the American Bar Association, and the law firm Olsson Frank Weeda Terman Bode Matz PC.

McConnell obtained a B.A. in English from the University of Idaho in 2005 and is a member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.
