Top Ranked Federal Agencies to Work For
Parternship for Public Service & Institute for the Study of Public Policy Implementation
Washington, D.C. – The 2009 Best Places to Work in the Federal Government rankings released on May 20, 2009 evaluated employee satisfaction across government in 278 federal agencies and subcomponents. Overall, employee satisfaction is up 2.4 percent, from 61.8 to 63.3, with 71 percent of agencies improving their Best Places to Work index score since the last rankings in 2007.
The Best Places to Work rankings, compiled by the Partnership for Public Service and American University’s Institute for the Study of Public Policy Implementation, are based on a survey conducted by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management that represents the views of 212,000 federal employees. Agencies are ranked in three categories: large (2,000 or more employees), small or subcomponent. They are also ranked in ten workplace categories, including leadership, work/life balance, and pay and benefits.
“You can’t manage what you don’t measure,” said Max Stier, president and CEO of the Partnership for Public Service. “The Best Places to Work rankings are an important tool for federal managers who understand that employee satisfaction drives agency performance. They provide both transparency and accountability – and they are an important benchmark for this administration.”
“The whole idea of employee engagement is to make the workplace more productive,” Robert Tobias, director of American University’s Institute for the Study of Public Policy Implementation, added. “These rankings provide an incentive for agencies to focus on their employees, they give a roadmap for improvement, and they help Congress fulfill their oversight responsibilities.”

intelligence community is not an agency it is a category as well as general aviation services that is actually referred to as General Aviation, that is actually regulated by the federal aviation administration, that is under the the department of Transportation. Departments and agency's are not synonyms. This article is just some filler that a inexperienced unspecialized 12 doller an hour affirmative action wrote too just look busy.

Darpa, nsa, d.o.c all pay better than Nasa in 2007 and now. Oh they are all still hiring too. This article was inaccurate in 2007.

this is why nobody reads these kinds of generic articles. This is also why the people who write them do a host of other unimportant busy work corporate tasks all their unimportant lives and never feel recognized for their unimportant efforts. NASA is no longer in the top 3 best places to work. Why might you ask. because they are not hiring. It is better to have no constructive information at all than have outdated and unreliable info. A simple search query for all files in your poorly managed article data base for the words Nasa jobs would have pulled this antiquated article up. With 7 -go to start- search programs and files- type nasa jobs press enter.

To whom it mat concern.
My name is Rober Cross and I have been trying to find Goverment grant money, to strart up a medical ship to help people all over the world , mostly in Iraq and war torn Countries. I was look for a ship equiped to make get closer where it's needed and have a on board Cath lab will a ccu. This would save hour's on making diangnostoc decision resuting in better and faster care and not having solder's loosing there legand arm's just to stop the bleeding. They deserve the best care we can provide eguipment and medical care as well. And right we path them up and send them to Germany. that why the loose there arms and leg's, faster treatment proper treatment would prevent almost all of this kind of medicine and save more lives and all I'm asking is for a ship that has a trained crew, the ability to have volunteer's and be equipment for a cath lab ccu for recoverry that are done properly done, and then go all over on the grant money to help any where we can, so we can get are respect back that we lost because of the war and the why we been handling othert country. We need to change other peole out look's, and this is one of the way's to do this and I have already started to have thing given to my cause.
